Bio: Verily Valerie

Valerie is a 42-year-old, single, Reformed Christian lady who lives in Baltimore. She doesn't remember a time before she knew and loved Jesus, but she does remember accepting John Calvin into her heart in March of 2000. Valerie is a member of Christ Reformed Evangelical Church in Annapolis.

Though her career aspiration is to be a housewife, Valerie has not yet found anyone suitable who wishes to hire her for employment in that field (or, more properly, anyone suitable has not found her), so in the meantime she earns her daily bread working in communications -- editing, writing, print design and website management.

Help Me Out with Some Decorating Decisions
Here's what I'm athinkin' (all photos are clickable for larger images).

These on the couch:

These on one chair:

These on the other chair:

The peacock theme is happifying. Should I try to find a little more contrast for the couch coices? I like the first chair pair together, but will they work with the couch ones? I like the second chair pair separately (especially digging that garden gate), but can I get away with them together...and with the rest of the choices? Should I give up on the orange/magenta peacock, and pair the red and white gate with one of the brown ones in the photo above it? Should I stop thinking I can make that bright red work with the darker reds of the couch pillows?

I await your comments with bated breath. ;-)

This may be a stupid question, but are you asking us to choose between each pair? Or just to say, "Yeah, those are really nice" or "What are you THINKING, wummin?"???

I am proposing to buy everything you see, and to place them as noted. So the first pair of photos would be paired on the couch, the second pair of photos on one chair, and the third pair on a third chair. So I'm asking for feedback on the scheme in whole or in parts. Clearer? :-P

I think you should ditch the magenta peacock. I am not a fan of orange and red together but I'm not sure how much of these are brown. I think the top two sets look good with their counterparts but all of them together makes a lot of patterns with pretty different looks. I would make sure all your pillows for one room could be switched around with each other and look good. I like the second set together best.Their is my unadulterated opinion. One thing I have learned about aesthetics is that the parts can all be lovable but that doesn't make the whole lovable. My favorite pillows are the bottom two but not together.

I think that the red and white gate pillow goes with the two couch pillows fine, the colors and patterns work for me.

The magenta and orange one is certainly the odd man out, but it seems to go with the chair pillows since they have an orangish hue as well as a matching filigree pattern.

I would choose the couch ones with the white gate or the chair ones with the peacock. Or go with a red, white, brown, orange, magenta shag rug to throw them all together. Just kidding; but I do think your could find SOMETHING to tie them all together if you really wanted to.
