*Thud!*
That was me falling over in shock because Blogger actually published my blog. If it publishes this post, too, somebody'd better call 911.

Now This Is a Conundrum
I listed Richard and Megan O under "Mean Bloggers" because they didn't link me. But now they've linked me. But it's only in the phrase "I'm dangerous and mean" at the top of the blog. So they technically no longer meet my definition of mean, but if I move them to "Bloggers Who Link Me," then they'll have to take down that sentence including the link to me. What to do, what to do.... This is as confusing as time travel!

A Rapist, or Just a Regular Adulterer?
I'm going to smack the next person who starts rattling on about KBryant's [name edited to avoid further disgusting search engine hits] "innocence." The man in an admitted adulterer, people, whatever else he might or might not be! Sadly, that's not something that's going to cost him his career or his freedom or his life, but it should at least cost him any sense of public approbation or admiration. Yes, we should also be provoked to a sense of sadness, of hope for his restoration, and of "there but for the grace of God go I," but let's not hear any more of this nonsense about "innocence."

Virtual Reality?
Emeth has written about the unreality of blogging (July 16, if the permalink doesn't work). Head over to her blog to discuss the issue itself, but if you have met me in person, answer this here: What difference did/do you discern between the onscreen me and the in-person me? Was there anything that surprised you when you met me, or was I pretty much what you expected?

Playing 'Possum
Opossum
You're an opossum...a dreamy homebody who has trouble rousing herself from her stupor, wandering aimlessly straight into trouble. Wake up from your slumber, and walk circumspectly (Ephesians 5:14-15).

What Kind of Road Kill Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

Opossums are extraordinarily stupid creatures. An opossum will walk into a wall keep moving it's legs for a bit. Once it figures out it's not getting anywhere, it will back up. And then it will proceed to move straight ahead again, right into the same wall. Yes, that about sums up my approach to life -- keep doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. On the plus side, 'possums are very adaptable and are distributed very widely in the Americas. They can survive in a pretty wide range of habitats -- from the deep woods to the big city -- and in a variety of climates.

But mostly they're just dumb as mud.

My blog appears to have ceased playing 'possum.

Reprieve
Had a talk with my vet tech friend on Sunday. Her thinking is that if my kitty is eating and using her litterbox regularly, and if proding the tumor causes no reaction, that she's probably not suffering to the point where she should be put down. My friend also offered to come do the job herself when that time does come, so kitty doesn't have to go through the stress of another trip to the vet and die miserable. Makes sense to me!
