I Love My Church
Aside from the usual extraordinary blessing of Lord's Day worship, and the usual extraordinary blessing of a fellowship dinner, I was blessed with someone (Eric) waiting with me for three hours for Triple A to show up, someone (Karen) lending me a vehicle while mine is in the shop, and (best of all) someone (Karen again) coming alongside me to hate my sin with a ferocity that strengthens my own hatred of it and gives me hope that I might yet, by the mercies of God, be able to conquer it. The shame of having my sin exposed (in this case, my theivery from my employer by spending inordinate amounts of time online during work hours) is far more bearable than the shame of carrying it alone and unaided. I love my church. And my church loves me. Thanks be to God for making me part of this precious covenant body.
